« Warm welcome. I came in to have my wisdom tooth out and it did not hurt at all. The doctor is very professional, and the place is clean and smells lovely. »
Straighten your teeth without anyone noticing
Clear aligners, often called invisible braces, straighten teeth using a series of made-to-measure shells that are removable and hard to spot. In Birkhadem, Algiers, your aligner consultation is free and you leave with a clear plan.
How much do clear aligners cost in Algeria?
At Zirconia Dental Clinic, clear aligners start at 150 000 DA (about €550) for a course of treatment. That is a starting price, not a quote. Aligner treatment is costed on what your case actually needs: the number of aligners required is not the same for slight crowding as for an extensive correction. The exact figure is settled after an examination.
The euro figure is indicative, converted at the parallel-market rate (undefined). It moves with the exchange rate; our fees are set in Algerian dinars.
What moves the price
How far the teeth have to travel
The further the teeth need to move, the longer the series of aligners. This is what weighs most on the final figure.
One arch or both
Correcting the upper teeth alone does not cost the same as treating both arches. That is decided when the plan is drawn up, according to what your case genuinely needs.
Treatment needed first
A cavity or a gum problem is dealt with before starting. That work is costed separately and is not needed in every case.
The retainer
After treatment, a retainer holds the result. It is part of the plan from the outset rather than appearing as an extra at the end.
What we commit to
- The consultation for aligners is free. You come in, we examine your case, and you are under no obligation.
- You get a clear quote before treatment starts. No cost that appears halfway through.
- Payment in instalments is possible.

What are clear aligners?
They are thin, transparent shells moulded to your teeth. You wear a series of them in turn: each one moves the teeth a fraction of a millimetre, then you move on to the next. By the end of the series, the teeth have reached the position planned at the start.
What sets them apart from fixed braces
They are discreet
Clear and thin, they are barely noticed in conversation. It is the number one reason adults choose them.
They come out
You take them out to eat and to brush your teeth. No food is off the menu, and your cleaning routine does not change. Fixed braces impose constraints on both counts.
They ask for discipline
That is the trade-off: they only work while they are being worn. The usual recommendation is 20 to 22 hours a day, out only for meals. Worn less than that, the treatment falls behind.
Are clear aligners right for my case?
Aligners handle a great many situations well, but not all of them. Only an examination can settle it. If your case calls for a fixed appliance, it is better to know that before starting than halfway through.
Often suitable
- Slightly crowded teeth, or teeth that have drifted over the years
- Gaps between the teeth that you would like closed
- Relapse after orthodontic treatment done long ago
- Adults who want discreet treatment for professional reasons
Needs a closer look
- Significant discrepancies between the jaws
- Severe rotations or teeth that have moved a long way
- Gums or teeth needing treatment before starting
- Children and teenagers, whose growth changes what is possible
None of these is an automatic no. They simply mean the plan is decided after an examination, not from a web page.
What aligner treatment involves
The detail varies from case to case, but the shape is the same. How long it takes depends on how far the teeth have to travel: that is costed after an examination, never before.
-
The consultation
We look at your teeth, your gums and your bite, and tell you frankly whether aligners are the right tool for your case. This consultation is free.
-
Impressions and the plan
Impressions or a scan of both arches, then the movement is designed tooth by tooth. This is the point at which the number of aligners and the duration become known.
-
Wearing the aligners
You receive your series and move from one aligner to the next at the pace you are given. Regular check-ups confirm the teeth are following the plan.
-
The retainer
Once the teeth are in place, they tend to drift back. A retainer, either a wire or a night-time aligner, holds the result. This stage is part of the treatment: it is what makes the result last.
Your questions about aligners
Are clear aligners painful?
No, though the first few days with each new aligner bring a feeling of pressure or tightness. That is the sign the teeth are moving, and it usually settles within one to three days.
How much do clear aligners cost in Algeria?
The fee depends on how complex the case is and how many aligners it needs: a slight realignment and an extensive correction are not costed the same. The quote is given after an examination, before any commitment, and payment in instalments is possible.
How much do clear aligners cost in euros?
Our fees are set in Algerian dinars and the euro conversion is only an order of magnitude: it follows the exchange rate, which moves. The quote given after the examination is what counts, and it is written in dinars. Aligner treatment runs over several months, so if you live abroad, talk to us about your situation before starting: the rhythm of the check-ups has to be planned around your trips.
How long does treatment take?
That depends entirely on how far the teeth have to travel. The duration can be put in figures once the plan has been designed, after the impressions. Giving a range before an examination would mean nothing.
Does "aligner" always mean the same thing as a retainer or a whitening tray?
No, and the three are easily confused. A night guard is worn against bruxism (tooth grinding), and a whitening tray holds the bleaching gel against the teeth. Three different appliances, for three different jobs.
Can you eat with aligners in?
No, and that is an advantage. You take them out to eat, so no food is forbidden. You simply brush your teeth before putting them back in.
Can people see them when I talk?
Barely. Aligners are clear and sit close against the tooth. Most people you speak to do not notice them in normal conversation.
What happens if I do not wear them enough?
The teeth stop following the plan and the treatment falls behind: the next aligner no longer fits properly. It is the main reason treatment drags on. If 20 to 22 hours a day sounds hard to keep to, say so at the consultation: a fixed appliance is sometimes the more realistic choice.
Do you have to wear a retainer for life?
Some form of retention stays necessary in the long run, because teeth keep a natural tendency to drift back towards where they started. The routine eases off over time and is discussed case by case.
